Session Info

The portrait session can take place at the location of your choice.  We service the Buffalo and Western New York area, including; Amherst, Williamsville, Clarence, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, Lockport, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Orchard Park, Hamburg, and East Aurora.

When selecting your location, keep in mind that it must have plenty of natural light. It can be in a nearby park, your own backyard, or by a large window in your home. If you do not have a location in mind, I will be more than happy to make some suggestions for you. Portrait sessions usually last about one hour (newborn, 2+ hrs) and include 25-30 images in an online viewing gallery.

How to Prepare For Your Portrait Session:

If the portrait session is in your home, be sure to clear your home of any clutter and make sure all blinds or curtains are opened prior to my arrival.

Families: Coordinate outfits while still showing room for each person’s personality. If the session is taking place in your home, keep in mind the colors of your décor when choosing outfits. Try to choose solid colors and outfits that are comfortable. Avoid prints, stripes, etc., as this can be distracting to the final portrait.

Children: Be sure to dress your child comfortably and according to the weather. If your daughter likes to wear her favorite twirly dress, or your little man likes to dress up in cowboy boots, let them. There will be time to make an outfit change or two during the session. These are your memories and you want your child to reflect his or her own personality.

Seniors/Teens: Bring several outfits and be prepared for a few outfit changes. Try to choose clothing that reflects your personal style. If you are involved in any extracurricular activities, bring something that also reflects that.

Babies: Simple patterns and bright colors are an excellent choice. For a more classic look, choose neutral colors and classic styles (collared shirts, denim, or a simple dress).

Newborns: The best outfit for a newborn is their “birthday suit”. I will come prepared with washable blankets to place your baby on. I highly recommend that parents wear solid black, brown, or white shirts. To ensure that your baby is comfortable during the portrait session, warm your home to about 80 degrees and make sure that they are fed prior to my arrival.

Pets: Bring toys, squeaky toys, and treats to get your pets attention during theportrait session. If you have a special collar, clothing, bed, or other favorite items, bring them as well. Please also be sure to bring a leash. If so desired, have your pet groomed a day or two prior to the portrait session. It is best to exercise your pet and hour or less prior to the session to help calm him or her. Lastly, remember that you may be photographed with your pet so dress appropriately.
