About Birth Photography

Birth Photography Session

The birth of your child will be the most momentous and miraculous experience in your life. Hiring a birth photographer will free up dad or other loved ones to solely focus on supporting you through your amazing birth journey. I take a photo-journalistic approach to my photography, utilizing natural light when possible, to capture every detail you want to remember while respecting your privacy and without being intrusive. I will photograph and  capture your labor, delivery, your baby’s first breaths, yours and dads first moments with baby and your reactions, who was in the room, who smiled and who cried, and all of the other details that you may miss in the fog of labor and emotion. These will be the most precious memories that you will ever have, lasting a lifetime and never forgotten.

I will be on call for you 24/7 from one week prior to your due date until 2 weeks after. You or a loved one would simply contact me once you are confirmed to be in active labor. I will be there to photograph the entire journey including labor, delivery, and up to the first two hours of your new baby’s life. Within the first 24 hours, you will receive 5 to 10 high resolution digital images to use for birth announcements, etc. Within 2 weeks, you will receive a disk with 50 to 100  high resolution digital images with all rights to copy and print up to 8×10″.

Due to the unpredictable nature of labor and delivery, I am only able to accept two birth photography sessions a month.  Please contact me for additional information. It would be an honor to be a part of your amazing journey!

Treasured Beginnings Photography Session

If you decide that the birth photography session is not for you, I also offer a one hour documentary style photography session within the first 48 hours of your new baby’s life at the location of birth.  You will receive a disk with 25 to 30 high resolution digital images with all rights to copy and print up to 8×10″.  Hospital photographers only spend a few minutes with your baby, they only photograph the baby, and the prints are often expensive.  This is a wonderful alternative and will be much more meaningful to your family and friends.  Please contact me for additional information.
